Mélanie Wilbaux, PhD, is a pharmacometrician. Pharmacometrics is defined as the science of developing and applying mathematical models and statistical methods for characterizing, understanding, and predicting a drug's pharmacokinetics and its effects on biomarkers and clinical responses over time. After biological and biostatistical studies, she obtained, in 2014, her PhD from the University of Lyon, in France. Her research interest focused on the mathematical modeling of tumor marker kinetics to predict clinical outcomes and treatment effects. In December 2014, she joined the Pediatric Pharmacology Group at the University Children's Hospital in Basel as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where she develops semi-mechanistic models in paediatrics.
