Soft tissue injuries occur very frequently in childhood and adolescence. Depending on the depth of the injury, deeper structures such as vessels and nerves may also be affected, which requires more complex treatment. Superficial injuries can be treated in the emergency ward, whereas deeper injuries require treatment in the operating theatre.
