The UKBB offers six internships per month for paediatric sub-assistants, and up to eight places depending on applications for paediatric surgery. We are also happy to welcome international interns, but ask for your understanding that a certain number of places are reserved for national applicants.
Please note that our internships are aimed exclusively at medical students in the elective year (or the practical year or clinical internship year). We do not offer clinical traineeships.
The understudies for the paediatric wards - neonatology, paediatric intensive care unit (only on express request), emergency ward and the A1, A2 and oncology wards - are appointed by Dr Isabelle Pramana, Head of Neonatology. As the person in charge of the sub-assistant system, she endeavours to meet the wishes of those interested.
Under the supervision or guidance of senior or assistant doctors, you will care for hospitalised or outpatients. As a junior assistant, you will also be assigned to the paediatric emergency ward during late-night and weekend shifts. You can take part in all of the clinic's teaching events as well as numerous further training events for interns. You will also have enough time for self-study.
Please consult the list of details before applying to the vacant sub-assistant positions paediatrics.
