Medical practice assistant EFZ

As a medical practice assistant (MPA) in a paediatric hospital, you play a central role in the care of children and adolescents and their carers. You will be responsible for both administrative and medical tasks and work closely with doctors and the interprofessional team to ensure the best possible care for young patients.

During your training, you will not only learn how to carry out medical examinations and assist with treatments, but also how to treat children and adolescents with empathy and respect. You will assist with outpatient examinations, diagnostic tests and treatments and will be involved in their preparation and aftercare.

You will be responsible for registering patients, coordinating examinations and communicating with their carers. You will also be responsible for managing patient data, organising appointments and assisting with administrative tasks. Your work will help to ensure that patient care runs smoothly and that young patients receive the best possible care.

Your tasks as an MPA EFZ in the outpatient clinic at UKBB:

• Patient admission and counselling
• Carrying out medical examinations and assisting with treatments
• Supporting doctors in the examination and treatment of children and adolescents
• Preparation and follow-up of diagnostic tests and treatments
• Communication with parents and other carers
• Management of patient data and documentation of treatment
• Support with administrative tasks

Working with children poses particular challenges, as you not only need specialist knowledge, but also empathy and patience in order to provide the best possible support for young patients and their carers.

As a medical practice assistant (MPA) at UKBB, you will take on a responsible and varied role that will enable you to work with young people in the medical field and actively promote their health.
