Hygiene measures for contact isolation of infants and newborns

This page has been translated automatically.

FFor parents, relatives and carers of infants and newborns:

In order to prevent the transmission of pathogenic germs to other patients and third parties, we would like to draw your attention to the following hygiene measures.

Hands

Clean hands when handling your child help to prevent the transmission of infections.

Wash hands with soap:

  • For visible soiling
  • After the toilet
  • After contact with blood and/or faeces (nasal secretions, vomit)

Disinfect hands:

  • Before entering the patient environment
  • Before leaving the patient's room

All about babies

After use, please wipe the changing mat from top to bottom with disinfectant wipes (Bacillol30 sensitive tissues).

Station A: Mothers receive a fresh pumping set every 24 hours, with the previous set being discarded. After each pumping process, the mothers clean the pumping device with Bacillol 30 Sensitive Tissues, the set with washing-up liquid and then place the cleaned sets on a cloth to allow them to dry.

In the paediatric and neonatal intensive care unit (IPU), the pump-out sets are stored in cloth bags after drying. These bags are replaced every 24 hours.

Patient room

Patients should avoid contact with other patients and visiting the Nemo cafeteria.

Toys

Please leave toys and other items belonging to the hospital in the patient's room. They will be specially cleaned and disinfected.

We ask parents, relatives and visitors not to visit other patients in the hospital after visiting patients in an isolation room.

Thank you for complying with these measures.

If you have any questions or uncertainties, please contact the responsible carer.
