Villa Kunterbunt Day-Care Center
Parents of hospitalised children wish to spend as much
time as possible in the room with their sick child. In order to ease the burden for parents,
siblings of the patient can go and play at the UKBB’s Villa Kunterbunt daycare centre
under the supervision of trained social workers.
Villa Kunterbunt also provides a service to relieve
the burden on the parents when they have to attend appointments at or outside
of the UKBB for as long as their child is inpatient at the UKBB.
Offers for all age groups
Admittance to Villa Kunterbunt is free. The daycare
has a variety of activities for different age groups, and is made available to
both patients and their siblings. Here they are free to paint and create and
have fun. Children can also borrow books, audio books and games free of charge
– either from the patient's room or directly in the Villa. The Villa runs a
branch of the Basel GGG City Library.
The Villa Kunterbunt is located on the ground floor of the UKBB and is open from 2 pm to 5 pm every Monday to Friday. No registration is required for the day-care centre.
