As a qualified expert in emergency nursing NDS HF in paediatrics, you specialise in the rapid and competent care of acutely ill, critically ill or injured children and adolescents. In this responsible and challenging role, you will be part of a highly qualified emergency team that is available around the clock to ensure the best possible care in emergencies. You will be working in a very dynamic and often stressful environment where quick decisions and precise action are required.

Emergency care in paediatrics requires a high level of specialist knowledge, organisational skills and the ability to act calmly and empathetically even in very stressful and emotional situations. They not only help patients, but also their carers, who are often unsettled in emergency situations.

The training will enable you to handle complex and often highly dramatic emergency situations with confidence and contribute to the best possible care for young patients.

Your tasks as a certified expert in emergency care NDS HF in paediatrics:

• To ensure medical care for young patients in emergency situations.
• Carrying out nursing measures to stabilise and monitor vital functions.
• Preparation of young patients for diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
• Support with medical care and assistance with medical procedures.
• Communication and psychosocial support for parents and carers in stressful emergency situations.
• They are able to recognise the special needs of children and young people and respond appropriately.
• Collaboration with the intra- and interdisciplinary emergency team.
• Organisation and coordination of emergency interventions and further treatment steps.
• Documentation of nursing measures and continuous evaluation of emergency care.

Working in emergency care in paediatrics is characterised by a high level of responsibility. You are regularly confronted with challenging and often life-threatening situations in which your professional expertise, your ability to grasp things quickly and your ability to act calmly are required. At the same time, it is also a very fulfilling task to help children and young people at critical moments and actively promote their recovery.

In this specialised role, you will make a decisive contribution to ensuring a high level of medical care in the emergency department. You are an important part of a dedicated team and make a valuable contribution to the health and safety of young patients.

• Nurses who have at least 2 years of professional experience in acute care and possibly knowledge of paediatrics
• Carers who enjoy working with children and young people and their carers
• Personalities who are independent, responsible, flexible and able to work under pressure
• Nursing professionals who think and act in a goal- and solution-orientated manner and have a high level of commitment and motivation

• At least 80 % employment on the emergency ward at UKBB
• Diploma at tertiary level as Dipl. Pflegefachfrau/Pflegefachmann HF, Bachelor of Science in Nursing FH or an equivalent foreign diploma (SRK recognised)
