As a qualified intensive care specialist NDS HF in paediatrics, you specialise in the complex care of seriously ill, critically ill or injured children and adolescents. In this demanding and challenging role, you will provide intensive medical care and nursing care for young patients who require special care due to their health situation.

You will be responsible for monitoring vital functions, carrying out nursing measures and providing support for vital treatments. As a specialist in intensive care, you will work closely with the intra- and inter-professional team to ensure the best possible and continuous care. You need a high level of paediatric-specific specialist knowledge and experience in order to be able to act quickly and precisely in acutely critical situations.

Working in a paediatric intensive care unit requires not only medical expertise, but also empathy and sensitivity in dealing with young patients and their caregivers. In stressful and emotionally charged situations, it is important to recognise and support the needs of both the patients and their carers. Your ability to remain calm and level-headed in challenging moments is of crucial importance.

The training programme will enable you to acquire in-depth knowledge in intensive care and to establish your nursing skills at a high level. Your tasks will include the preparation and implementation of invasive and non-invasive measures as well as support during diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.

Your tasks as a certified expert in intensive care NDS HF in paediatrics:

• Carrying out and monitoring intensive care for seriously ill, critically endangered or injured children and adolescents
• Assisting with medical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and emergency treatments, as well as carrying out invasive and non-invasive measures
• Use of highly specialised devices and technologies for monitoring vital functions and therapy
• Creation and continuous adaptation of individual care plans based on the health status of the young patients
• Empathetic communication with patients and their carers and professional support in stressful situations
• Intra- and interdisciplinary cooperation
• Training, guidance and support in the further development of care concepts
• Implementation and documentation of the care process and continuous monitoring of the quality of care

In this specialised and responsible role as a NDS intensive care nurse in paediatrics, you will work in a highly professional environment that constantly presents new challenges and puts your nursing and communication skills to the test.

• Nurses who have at least 2 years of professional experience in acute care and possibly knowledge of paediatrics

• At least 80 % employment in the intensive care unit at UKBB
• Diploma at tertiary level as Dipl. Pflegefachfrau/Pflegefachmann HF, Bachelor of Science in Nursing FH or an equivalent foreign diploma (SRK recognised)
