As an FH nursing specialist at UKBB, you are a highly qualified professional who specialises in the care and support of children and adolescents at all stages of life. Your work includes holistic nursing care, medical care and support for young patients and their carers. As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with doctors, therapists and other specialists to ensure the best possible treatment and care.

You are responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of complex care processes. You will be responsible for direct care as well as counselling and coordinating tasks. Your expertise in nursing science will enable you to develop and implement individual care concepts that are specifically tailored to the needs of children and adolescents. Working with a particularly young group of patients requires special communication skills and empathy in order to build trust.

Thanks to your sound training, you will have in-depth knowledge of nursing care and make a significant contribution to the further development of nursing standards at the paediatric hospital. As an FH nursing specialist, you will also be able to evaluate nursing processes and develop evidence-based nursing concepts to ensure the best possible care.

Your tasks as a nursing specialist FH at UKBB:

• Planning, implementation and evaluation of complex care processes for children and adolescents in various medical areas
• Monitoring and caring for patients, including carrying out medical procedures and administering medication
• Empathetic support and counselling for parents and caregivers
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with doctors, therapists and other specialists
• Management and guidance of nursing staff and teams, as well as promotion of further development in the care sector
• Ensuring a high quality of care through evidence-based care concepts and continuous evaluation of care processes
• Promotion of health education and prevention, as well as support for the rehabilitation and aftercare of patients
• Documentation of care processes and progress as well as analysis and optimisation of workflows

Your work requires a high level of professional expertise as well as a great deal of empathy and patience, as you work with young patients and their carers. In your role as a nursing specialist FH at UKBB, you will take on a responsible role that is characterised not only by your nursing skills, but also by your ability to communicate, coordinate and lead.

Through your work, you will actively contribute to the development and improvement of the quality of care and help to positively influence the lives of children and young people. You will work in a varied and challenging environment and can contribute your expertise in a future-oriented, professionally demanding field.

• Completed secondary level 2 (specialised baccalaureate school, gymnasiale Matura or federal certificate of proficiency with vocational baccalaureate)
• Strong interest in paediatrics and the specialised care of children and adolescents
• Enjoy dealing with paediatric patients and their caregivers in an empathetic and professional manner
• High social competence, sense of responsibility and team spirit
• Commitment and willingness to collaborate across disciplines in a dynamic environment
• Willingness to work irregular hours (shifts and weekends)

• The training contract (BFH) is issued after acceptance by the admissions committee
• Students at BFH can indicate a preference for the field of work for the practical module
• The person responsible at BFH plans and coordinates the practical assignments based on the information provided
• An employment contract (training company) is issued for the duration of the practical modules
