Paediatric Surgery Residencies

In der Regel haben Sie in ihrem einmonatigen Einsatz in der Kinderchirurgie die Möglichkeit, das Fach in seiner ganzen Breite kennenzulernen. Sie sind für 2 Wochen auf Station eingesetzt und 2 Wochen in der Poliklinik. Von dort aus können Sie in den OP eingeteilt werden. Sie werden sehr viel Patientenkontakt pflegen und in den jeweiligen Bereichen unter Anleitung den klinischen Alltag kennenlernen. Sie werden unter Aufsicht selbstständig auszuführende Aufgaben erfüllen. Ein permanentes Teaching während dieser Zeit wird Ihnen garantiert.

• Get to know everyday life in a surgical department with the special features of a paediatric clinic
• Take a surgical history, complete paediatric status
• Making a diagnosis and designing treatment plans
• Caring for inpatients under guidance and supervision
• Observe and learn about typical clinical pictures in their course
• Conducting patient interviews and discussions with parents
• Collaborate with various interfaces such as the nursing service, physiotherapy, social services and others.
• Presentation of patients during ward rounds
• Presentation of a current paper in the Journal Club

• A short letter of motivation

• Copies of the confirmation of enrolment

Additional documents for applicants without Swiss citizenship:

• A copy of the passport
• An original passport photo if you are staying in Switzerland for longer than three months
• Whether you are spending time in Switzerland before or after your internship
