BELOP | Supporting parents when children undergo surgery

When children fall ill, so do we as parents - or at least it sometimes feels that way. This shows how close we are to our little ones. If children have to have an operation, it's not easy for many parents. You don't know exactly what will happen - you have to let go and trust.

BELOP is there for precisely these moments. BELOP is run by dedicated parent counsellors who are there to support parents. They answer questions, provide support and counselling. With BELOP, mums and dads are not alone in important moments. They are there until the child falls asleep and show the parents where the child will wake up again. In between, they help the parents to find their way around the hospital.

Formerly run as an independent association, BELOP has been supported by the Pro UKBB Foundation since February 2020. The foundation is pleased to support mothers and fathers within the framework of BELOP, to continue and further expand the offer.

The idea behind BELOP lives on and continues to develop - with the parent counsellors who are on duty from Monday to Friday. The services provided by BELOP are invaluable for many parents and the UKBB. We rely on donations to provide these services.
