Our primary research focus is to understand the biomechanics of normal and pathological human motion, particularly gait. We utilize computerized movement analysis to enhance the understanding of human locomotion for physicians, physiotherapists, biomechanists, and scientists.

With this equipment, we measure key biomechanical parameters to answer important scientific questions. Our analyses include three-dimensional measurements such as joint angles (kinematics), joint moments and powers (kinetics), temporospatial metrics, center of mass, center of pressure, and muscle activation patterns. We use software like MATLAB and specialized modeling tools (AnyBody and OpenSim) for inverse dynamics simulations. Finite element analysis is performed using ANSYS software to calculate parameters like stress, strain, and deformations, including a special foot model for assessing foot deformities. This innovative software is integrated into our daily clinical practice.
