Hospital hygiene and infection prevention at UKBB are concerned with the prevention, detection and control of hospital infections and thus contribute to patient safety. The guidelines and instructions for achieving the hospital hygiene objectives (infection prevention, etc.) are approved by the Hygiene Commission. They are binding for all UKBB employees with direct patient contact.

The Hygiene Commission is an interdisciplinary group of experts with representatives from nursing, medicine and other areas at UKBB. It advises and supports the hospital management in matters of hospital hygiene. Responsibility for hygiene lies with the hospital management.

Hygiene at UKBB

The Infection Prevention Team at UKBB deals with the prevention and control of infections in hospitals. Appropriate measures contribute directly to patient safety.

Help us to implement the recommended hygiene measures and thus protect your child and our patients in the best possible way.

Wash your hands

Pathogens are often transmitted via the hands. Thorough hand hygiene is therefore particularly important when you are in hospital. Wash your hands with soap and water if you:

  • enter a patient room.
  • after changing nappies or accompanying them to the toilet.
  • before preparing food.
  • after using the toilet.
  • before the meal.
  • if your hands are visibly soiled.

The patient bed and the entire patient room are cleaned daily. Please put your personal belongings to one side so that this work can be carried out thoroughly.
We ask you to wipe the changing table with a damp disinfectant wipe after use.
