The research group’s primary focus is the study of innate lymphoid cells (ILCs), which play a pivotal role in mucosal protection and immune responses. However, these cells are also associated with diseases such as asthma, cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease.Recent research has highlighted the tissue-specific functions of ILC3s in antigen presentation, with factors such as IL-23 and IFN-gamma influencing their role in immune tolerance or activation, depending on the tissue. Furthermore, the developmental pathways of ILCs from hematopoietic stem cells are being investigated, with the aim of identifying key genes and molecular events that define ILC lineage commitment.
