Quality and law

Quality has a high priority at UKBB. In organisational terms, quality management at UKBB is therefore attached to the top operational management. The UKBB has an interdisciplinary Quality and Risk Commission (QRK). With the support of the QRK, the quality officers initiate, coordinate and support quality assurance measures and contribute to continuous quality development.

Certified quality

In order to find out whether the quality meets the required and set standards, the UKBB has been certified by the Swiss Foundation for Quality Assurance in Healthcare SanaCERT Suisse since 2004: External experts assess eight specific quality standards/quality topics in annual audits. Re-certification takes place every three years. The consistently good results show that quality is truly practised at UKBB.

Current standards at the UKBB

Standards already dealt with

  • Standard 2: Survey of parental judgements
  • Standard 5: Pain treatment
  • Standard 9: Care
  • Standard 17: Dealing with complaints and requests
  • Standard 21: Family-orientated care
  • Standard 30: Measures restricting freedom

How does the UKBB measure quality?

Proven procedures are used to achieve long-term success in terms of quality. Key figures and quality measurements help to constantly analyse situations and existing processes, identify opportunities for optimisation and review the objectives that have been set.

To this end, UKBB participates in the quality measurements of the National Association for Quality Development in Hospitals and Clinics (ANQ), such as patient and parent satisfaction and the measurement of wound infections following appendectomies. UKBB is proud that it consistently achieves excellent results in the ANQ parent surveys.

In addition to the national quality measurements, the UKBB defines and launches its own internal key figures and quality measurements. Regular surveys are an important indicator of the satisfaction of parents and patients.
