The UKBB team also won the 2026 AllKidS football tournament, continuing their winning streak. For the first time, a new coach, Zanyar Arfinejad, was on the touchline.

The UKBB has continued its winning streak. At the AllKidS football tournament held on 20 June 2026 in Bern, the team once again secured the tournament title. The UKBB is thus extending its impressive run: since 2019, it has brought the title back to Basel at every tournament held and is now cup winner for the fifth time in a row.

This year’s success has an extra special touch: Zanyar Arfinejad, the new coach, was on the touchline and led the team straight to the title.

Little time to prepare, a clear goal

The starting point was a challenging one. Within a matter of days, Zanyar Arfinejad put together a new team after several players had pulled out at short notice. There was no time for training, and many of the players were on the pitch together for the first time.

Nevertheless, a well-functioning team quickly emerged. At the heart of it was a clear message from the coach: «We want goals – score goals.»

Plenty of drive and nerves of steel

The team put this motto into practice in impressive fashion. In six matches, they scored 33 goals whilst conceding just 5.

The final against the home side from Bern demanded everything from the team. With high temperatures and growing fatigue, the match was only decided in a penalty shoot-out. After a 3–3 draw, UKBB secured the tournament victory with a 5–4 win.

«This trophy belongs to all of us!»

For coach Zanyar Arfinejad, there’s no doubt about what made the difference: the team’s unity. «This success is the result of team spirit, commitment, trust and collective strength. This trophy belongs to all of us – this trophy belongs to the UKBB.»

The successful team included: Ayleen Wicki, Niklas Mettler, Zanyar Arfinejad, Sakirdiren Manaz, Nyang Duol, Nora Haag, Alessio Di Felice, Furkan Fryilmar, Oxy, Annika Hohler, and Charles and Ben Herrmann.

Warm congratulations to all the players on this fantastic achievement.

The next AllKidS football tournament will take place in Ticino in 2027.

The winning jersey is now available to reorder!

And one more thing: if there had been a prize for the best-looking jerseys, that too would probably have gone to Basel. The #teamUKBB jerseys, made possible by the Pro UKBB Foundation, are now available – in sizes 116, 152 and XS – at reception or in the The Pro UKBB Foundation’s online shop.

The AllKidS Football Tournament brings together teams from Swiss children’s hospitals every year. The focus is on the fun of the game, team spirit and fair play, as well as a shared commitment to the causes championed by paediatric hospitals. Further information: allkids.ch
